STEPHANIE ROCKE // ARCHITECTURAL assistant

How LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT JESSOP AND COOK ARCHITECTS AND WHAT PROJECTS DO YOU WORK ON?

I’ve been with Jessop & Cook about eight weeks now (and I hope to be here for a long time to come). I’ve worked mostly on social housing projects for Oxford City Council but also a few private, residential builds. I’m ready and willing to take on any projects that get thrown my way in the future! I am also utilising my professional background in Commercial Procurement and Business Strategy to help Jessop & Cook attain their current/future aspirations as a company.

WHAT SPECIFIC AREAS ARE YOU INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING WITHIN JESSOP AND COOK ARCHITECTS?

As architecture is a completely new career path for me and I am just starting my training, everything I do at the firm is a learning opportunity. I do feel strongly that a holistic approach to inclusive design is integral to the future of architecture, and I would like to help shape public spaces making them more accessible to those of us that are Neurodivergent. I am particularly passionate about the built environment as it pertains to education and would love the opportunity to work on future projects within that sector.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

I am a mother of two unique and amazing boys. Alton is 10 and Hayden just turned 9. When I’m not running around with them or focusing on my studies, I am an activist for educational reform, especially as it concerns children with special educational needs and disabilities. It’s an area that is close to my heart. I also adore animals and have adopted several rescues (2 dogs, 4 cats and a rabbit currently reside in my household!).
