TAHIMA RAHMAN // PROJECT ARCHITECT

BA (Hons), MArch, PGDip, ARB, RIBA

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT JESSOP AND COOK ARCHITECTS AND WHAT PROJECTS DO YOU WORK ON?

Jessop and Cook first sparked my interest to pursue a career in Architecture after work experience with Dan in 2010.

Currently I work mainly on social housing schemes for Oxford City Council, and am involved in some larger charity and community projects too. My role involves running projects with clients every step of the way.

WHAT SPECIFIC AREAS ARE YOU INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING WITHIN JESSOP AND COOK ARCHITECTS?

Jessop and Cook were an invaluable source of support and encouragement throughout my degree, professional experience and qualification to registered Architect in 2019. My interests are to continue the educational outreach that makes the practice special. I have been a RIBA Mentor for the undergraduate students at the University of Oxford Brookes and would like to become a RIBA Ambassador to run workshops in local primary schools in the future.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Outside of work my days are jam packed with sports and activities. I'm a huge believer in the positive mental, social and physical impact of exercise and being outdoors.

I am a ballet dancer with Yuka Kodama Ballet Group in Jericho, and a regular member of my local leisure centre. At the weekends I spend as much time outdoors either gardening, cycling or paddle boarding along the river!
