All Saints Convent - Annexe redevelopment

The redevelopment includes a new accommodation block and conference building, and the partial demolition and refurbishment of existing buildings to provide guest accommodation. The site is within the walls of the listed C18 St John’s home and the new hospices Douglas House and Helen House.

Jessop and Cook were appointed having won a limited competition. The construction is an exercise in high quality materials, innovation and sustainability. The pitched zinc roof of the accommodation block is a contemporary interpretation of a lead standing seam roof and the pitch matched that of the existing St. John’s home. The building also incorporates curved timber cladding, oak joinery and a green roof to the single storey meeting building.
