The priory on St. Giles is used for public worship and teaching, and by students of Oxford University Theology Faculty.

The redevelopment has been designed to safeguard and improve the Dominican work and way of life. This involves extension and alteration to the existing listed buildings. Special attention was required to respect the privacy of surrounding buildings and to maximise the sunlight penetration into the Blackfriars quod.

The new accommodation includes an underground book store, processional cloister, 4 storey extension to the West Tower and 5 storey tower containing study bedrooms and communal living areas.

The project has gained planning consent and is currently at fundraising stage.
