standlake primary school
This project was a new extension of Standlake CE Primary School, in Standlake near Oxford, to provide a new classroom, cloakroom and a new corridor to provide much needed room for the school. It was completed in March 2014.
The extension is distinctive with a vaulted sound-absorbent ceiling and an array of windows to illuminate the new teaching space with natural light. The materiality of rich wooden cladding echoes the existing school's wooden cladding to unify the building. The new extension helps provide a light and open classroom to benefit the school's students, staff and wider community.
